Family Note:   Henry and Elizabeth were married in the Holy Trinity Church in Caledon, Western Cape on May 17, 1864. In settling Henry's estate after his death in 1905 in Exmouth, Devon, a notarized letter was made up by lawyers Guthrie & Theron in Caledon attesting that the children born out of wedlock before this marriage were the children of both parents and entitled to their share of the proceeds of the estate, and a copy of the marriage from the parish church in Caledon was filed along with the estate papers.
