Career: Tutor, Diocesan Collegiate School (afterwards the Diocesan College, or "Bishops"), Rondebosch (until 1857), Curate of Holy Trinity Church, Beaufort West (1857), Curate in temporary charge of St. John's, Cape Town (1857-1858); Curate in charge 1858-1859), Missionary (SPG) and Rector of Holy Trinity Church (instituted 19 December 1859; served until 1861), Beaufort West; Priest-in-charge (1861-1863), and Rector (instituted 16 September 1863; served until 1875- took 12 months leave-of-absence 1871), of St. George's Newhaven with Holy Trinity, Belvedere, Knysna; Rector of Caledon (1875-1885); Colonial Chaplain (appointed 1 May 1885) and Rector of St. Frances' (instituted 20 September 1885; served until 1899), Simon's Town; and acting Chaplain to the Forces (1889-1899), all in the diocese of Cape Town. Attended the first synod of the diocese of Cape Town, January 1857. He retired as an extra-parochial, 1899. Licensed as Preacher and Officiating Minister, in the diocese of Cape Town, October 1901. Died: Kenilworth, on 17 July 1904.
