       [from Administrative History] Woolleigh Barton, Beaford was owned by the Acland family and leased to William Leverton, farmer. His son, Arthur took over the farm on the death of William in 1925. Arthur, who was Chairman of the North Devon Clay Company, died in 1938, followed by his sister, Hannah Margaret in 1946 and his brother, William Henry in 1950
