     Richard Ford called to the Bar in 1822, but never practised. Travelled a great deal and collector of books, paintings and engravings. Wrote books and articles for magazines. Wrote ‘Handbook for Spain’ about 1834/39. Bought Heavitree House in 1834 and seems to have pulled it down and rebuilt it.
