After a dispute over marriage settlement of John Trevelyan the younger and Maud daughter of Giles, John Trevelyan the elder is said to have alienated part of his son's inheritance.
Sureties - Baldwin Malet, King's solicitor, and Robert son and heir of Giles Hill. Refers to earlier unsuccessful attempts at settling the dispute.
Award - all estate, the inheritance of John Trevelyan the elder, except the portion of his wife Avice and land conveyed to Anthony Pollard, to remain after death of John, to his son John. Avice's portion to remain to John the younger after her death. The estate to be free of all encumbrances. John the elder may charge his estates with not more than 600 marks for the marriage of his 3 daughters now living, he may also let his estates for his life only and give 100 marks to any daughter by a second wife. The Manor of Whalesborough is not to be let in order that the heir may have a dwelling. Giles Hill to surrender a bond in 500 marks to John the elder, the parties to enter a bond to keep this award.
