The main changes thus illustrated are:
1623 The manor settled in the hands of trustees for the payment of the debts of Sir Henry Hawley. 1639 After the fulfilment of the trust the manor was assigned to Sir Henry's son and heir, Francis (later Lord Hawley).

      hit[from Scope and Content] Deeds of Preston Torrells Farm; earliest deed also relates to the manors of West Quantoxhead, Clatworthy, Brompton Ralph, Tolland, and 'Hulkeshaie', Gittisham (co. Devon) and unspecified property in numerous parishes, including Milverton (Malet family); deed 1603 specifices Preston Torrells and relates also to the manors of West Quantoxhead, Brompton Ralph, Tolland and North Petherton and the rectory of Otterford. The Malet family interest in the property lasted until 1744 when Cannon Southey, esq., purchased it.

      hit[from Scope and Content] Earlier title deeds of Piles in Hill Farrance; the deeds also relate to Poole Land in Halse, Raynold Ground in Milverton and land in East Stretcholt in Pawlett, all of which properties came ultimately into the possession of Cannon Southey; copy of wills of John Ingland of Ile Brewers, clerk (proved 1653), and his widow, Elizabeth of Fivehead (proved 1654); settlement, 1684, previous to marriage of Andrew Warner of Wickhambrook (co. Suffolk) and Eliz. Cutts, niece of Anthony Poulet of Preston Torrells and great granddaughter of Gawen Malet; some deeds also concern Preston Torrells Farm in Milverton and another deed of 1684 also relates to the three parsonages or portions of Crewkerne.
