Individual Note:
     Always a troubled girl, she had neither financial indepence or prospects. In Ocober, 1817 she told her stepfather William Godwin that she was going to visit her aunts in Dublin, but instead checked into a hotel in Swansea and took an overdose of laudanum.

     1890 census of Vasternorrland, Sweden says she was born in Mustasaari, Finland.
Noted in 1901 census as being Finnish, and as having immigrated in 1894. She and her husband were probably Swedes from Finland, as sons are noted as being of Swedish nationality.

     According to 1890 census of Vasternorrland, lived in "Öd, Gudmundrå", and was a "Byggmästare", a contractor or builder. He was born in Vora, Finland.

    Born in Kramfors Sweden 1853 Erik married Sophia Strand in 1876 Four children born in Sweden, Victor, Tekia, Amelia, and Albert Emigrated about 1889 Came to Minnedosa, Erik found work as a carpenter, and Victor worked in a store owned by an Uncle Mekal Nystrom who came at an earlier date. Erik received on April 4, 1899 a grant for homestead S.E. 20-17-17-W1, a log house was built and a few years later Sophia and three kids came to Canada to live. Two more sons were born, Ed. about 1897 and Robert in 1900. In 1926 Erik and Sophia celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in the church he had helped to build. Erik died in 1928 and Sophia in 1935

Erick said he had had the "Black Death" in the old country. People were picking up the bodies, and they picked him up, but saw his finger move, so left him for pickup the next day, by which time he had recovered more.
1901 census lists him as a farmer, immigrated to Canada 1892 and naturalized 1896. Death certificate gives date of birth as December 20, 1853, and adds patronymic "Matson", and gives age at death as 74.

Individual Note:
     Victor came to Canada at age 9, moved onto a farm in the Hilltop District S.E. 20-17-18W. Victor was a carpenter, assisted with the Lutheran Church in Erickson, now owned by grandson Living Shellborn. Victor and Ellen were members of the Lutheran Church. Victor sang in the church choir and was a school trustee. 1901 census says he was of Swedish nationality, immigrated in 1892. Moved to Erickson, was an early settler in that area.
