     Memorial to John in the church at Aveton Gifford:

To the sacred memory of the Eldest son of John Harris of Stodbury, gentlman, who as a youth had already fufilled in the University of Oxford that sure and certain promise which as a boy his parents and friends had forseen. To the greatest sorrow of all, was stricken with lung trouble and with christian courage above his age, breathed his last 6th day of February 1705 aged 17. His most grief stricken surviving parents placed this monument of his dutifulness to their most dearest son.
